Andrea and Jerry Shearing
‘As Far as the Eye can See’
Jerry and Andrea have produced a collection of paintings on the theme of ‘As Far as the Eye can See’. Their inspiration stems from living in Firle, a local village which is nestled in the Downs and from the Seaford coastline where Jerry has a studio overlooking the Channel. Both environments provide the opportunity to gaze into space and wonder what lies beyond the distant hill or horizon line. The act of gazing allows the mind to empty and bring a sense of calm and peace as well as wondering. Jerry and Andrea have each interpreted their vision in personal ways which makes their work distinct but also complimentary. They want to encourage people to experience the calm that gazing into space triggers from being in the environment, from immersing themselves in their land and seascapes.
